The 2017 Vikings campaign was the most exciting—and, ultimately, the most heartbreaking—season Minnesota sports fans experienced in years. But considering the Vikes’ narrowly missed chance to play in the Super Bowl at home, Cheryl Reeve’s dynastic Lynx once again deserve this category. In October, the team won their fourth WNBA championship in seven years (matching the Houston Comets for most WNBA titles) and appeared in the Finals for a record sixth time. The 2017 Finals series was a rematch of the previous season’s, but this time the Lynx defeated Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks. Though MVP-winning center Sylvia Fowles led the team, there was no shortage of support: Lynx staples Maya Moore, Rebekkah Brunson, and Seimone Augustus all made the Western Conference All-Star team.
