This town is turning into speakeasy central, but for our money—our tokens, more specifically—the best new bar around is the one where you can house hot dogs as you flip and bump the day away. Yep, we’re talking about Tilt, the pinball emporium that brought 20-ish machines’ worth of pure joy to Whittier last April. Not only is it an exceedingly fun (and very first-date-friendly) place to play, but the food’s no joke either. Those beef dogs and brats were masterminded by the same team behind Nightingale and come topped with clever combos befitting a pinball bar. Cream cheese, dill pickles, and a dash of pastrami spice decorate Don Pickles; the Decatur Street gets dressed up with giardiniera and black olive mayo. Wash yours down with a beer from Tilt’s thoughtfully curated list of locals, which you can keep close at hand thanks to the cupholders conveniently affixed to each cabinet.
